What a lovely place to start our family blog. The other day, Emily noticed that Aaron was kind of lethargic. She checked his forehead and thought he was hot. A few minutes later, the thermometer confirmed that he had a 102 degree fever. For the next 36 or 48 hours, it was a cycle of giving him Tylenol or Advil to break the fever and then waiting for it to take effect, then having him run around like a normal little boy until that dose ran out and being miserable for a little while until time for the next dose.
After a little while of this, we finally took him to the doctor. The doctor checked his lungs (no problem), ears (no problem), and finally settled on his throat as the culprit. The nurse took a couple of swabs of his throat and they came back a few minutes later with the word that the test was 80% sure it wasn't strep and that we would have to wait until the following day to find out what the culture showed it to be.
Fortunately, his fever has now broken and he seems to be getting better, although sometimes he's a little difficult (go figure, you'd think he hadn't been eating and sleeping very well).
Abby was acting a little off yesterday, but we don't think she has a fever and Ryan also seems to be okay at present. So we're crossing our fingers that this is it, but not really expecting it to be over. Got to love how illness just gets passed around the family..
